Hike on the Moselle Hiking Trail Trier-Schweich

news news
About 12.5 mi / 20 km, walking time about 5-6 hours

This hiking route begins in Trier at the main train station. Your way leads along Nordallee to the Moselle, where you will cross the river on the Kaiser Wilhelm bridge, going toward the Weisshaus forest. Beneath the Kaiser-Wilhelm bridge is also the dock where you will arrive again later. The cliffside path along the sandstone cliffs begins directly beyond the Weisshaus restaurant. From there you will reach enchanting vantage points which offer views of the romantic Moselle Valley. This is followed by a hiking section along a wooded trail. In the district of Biewer, you will cross the valley road toward the Biewer creek. Several ascents and descents follow above the districts of Ehrang and Quint. Wooded trails and open glades offer alternate views toward the Moselle.

Upon reaching Schweich, you can return comfortably to Trier with the boat that departs at 6:25 p.m. It arrives in Trier about 7:30 p.m. The boat operates July 18 through September 30, 2023, every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday
